A flexible constitution can be amended by ordinary law making exercise while a rigid constitution can be amended by a very difficult and special procedure. As regards to Indian Constitution, it strikes a balance between the rigidity and flexibility.

The Indian constitution is rigid as well as flexible,i.e.,some parts can be easily amended by the Parliament by a simple majority(one vote more than half).However,for amendment of most of the other clauses,a special majority(2/3rd majority of those present and voting and simple majority of the total membership of the House)is required in the Parliament.
