hi friend....

the intestine in harbivorous is longer than carnivorous because digestion of cellulose takes a longer time. Hence, herbivores eating grass need a longer small intestine to allow complete digestion of cellulose. Carnivorous animals cannot digest cellulose, so they have smaller intestine..

hope this helps u...

pragatipal: Herbivores are plant eating animals they eat plant which contains cellulose and cellulose take a bit more time to digest where as carnivores eat meat which is easy to digest so herbivores have longer smaller intestine than carnivores.

Hey there!

A Good Question.

As we know that grass, the food of herbivores consist of cellulose which is not easily digestible. Flesh or meat, the food of carnivores consist of proteins i.e easily digestible. So, Herbivores have longer intestine than carnivores which help them in digestion of food easily.

Hope it helps you!

Kuldeepnehra: More Absorption area is required in Herbivores than carnivores.. So too longer small intestine is needed for Herbivores.. Thanks
