Iron Pillar at Delhi does not get rusted because it is made up of wrought iron(low-carbon steel), it is prevented because of the formation of a thin film of magnetic oxide of iron(Fe3O4) on its surface and it is painted with mixture of various salts. That is the reason it is not rusted yet.
