Why the items of Union list are kept under the direct control of central government ​

Nearly about 97 subjects are included in the union list just like defence, foreign affairs, banking, communications and currency. They are included in the list because we need a uniform policy on these matters throughout the country. The union Government can make laws relating to the subjects mentioned in the union list.(please mark it as brainliest)

The union list or list-l is a list of 98 numbered items (after 101st constitutional amendment act 2016,entry 92 and 92c removed) (the last item is numbered 97) given in seventh schedule in the constitution of india on which parliament has exclusive power to legislate. the legislative section is divided into three list :union list, state list and concurrent list. unlike the federal government of the United States,switzerland or Australia, residual powers remain with the union government as with the Canadian federal government.
