Why the light scattered when sunlight passes to the canopy of a dense forest?

 In the forest, mist contains tiny droplets of water which act as particles of colloid dispersed in air. When the sunlight enters the dense forest, the rays of light pass through these particles of colloids and getscattered. Due to the scattering oflight, the path of the sun ray is clearly visible...
