Why the light travel faster
in rarer medium than in denser med??

bcoz density of light is less

because more particles get into them

for example in a glass slab
if we pass light through the glass slab the medium changes in outside of the glass slab the air is present in a denser and when light is passed through it in a glass slab if it changes its direction and after the light comes out from the glass slab changes its direction and outside of the glass slab it is denser medium
