why the longitudes are marked as eastern longitudes or Western longitudes but they moved from north to south pole and why latitude are marked as northern and southern latitudes but they moves from east to west ?​

As you move toward the poles, the distance between each line of longitude becomes smaller until the converge at the North and South Poles. The distance between longitudes at the equator is the same as latitude, roughly 69 miles
