Why the lymph is known as extracellular fluid

Lymph is a fluidproduced by the immune system which contains white blood cells that fight off infectious substances that have entered the body.

itt provides nourishment to the tissues and the cells ....and is also known as tissue fluid and does the narration purpose ...
