This is because iron filings are attracted to the magnet but sulfur is not. This proves that the mixture is not yet a compound, and is a mixture, as it can be separated by physical means.

Hope this helps you and please mark me brainliest...........

Answer:

Iron and sulphur can be separated when not heated because it's a mixture and when we heat this mixture it cannot be separated because it becomes a compound.

Explaination:

Now You Need To Understand that,Mixture is Something Which can be Seperated By physical Methods .Now,When you combine iron filings with sulfur to form a mixture. And then You are able to separate the iron from the sulfur throught a Mangnet.Next, if you heat the iron and sulfur, you form iron sulfide, Fe + S =FeS which is a compound; And A Compound can't be Seperated throught Physical method Thus, iron and sulfur can no longer be separate from one another.

Hope So You Got It!!
