The ruling period of Shah Jahan (1628–1658) is known as golden age in Mughal Empire.
There was peace throughout country during his reign. Many roads, canals, bridges constructed for public welfare during his administration.He carried various relief measures for famine and plague.
Shahjahanabad(now known as Old Delhi or Purani Dilli) founded by him in 1638. He constructed the Red Fort, Taj Mahal and many more monuments.There was no external attack or threat to country during his reign.
