NaCl that is sodium chloride is Polar molecule so it will be soluble in polar solvent like water and insoluble in water as it is not a polar solvent.

NaCl is a a electrovalent compound and is soluble in water.Being an electrovalent compound it is insoluble organic solvent kerosene.water also has a high dielectric constant and can easily dissolve electrovalent compounds
