Voting in the estate general was each estate have one vote.Members of the third estate demanded that voting now be conducted by the assembly as a whole where each member would have one vote.When the king rejected this proposal,members of the third estatewalked out of the assembly in protest.On 20th june they assembled in the hall of an indoor tennis court and they declared themselves as national assembly and swore not to disperse till they have drafted a constitution for francethat could limit the powers of monarch.
