why the number of stomatas present on upper surface of a leaf are comparetively less than on the lower surface of leaf

As far as I know, it is because the upper surface of the leaf is more exposed to pollution and other harmful factors as compared to the lower surface. Also, the upper surface is more exposed to heat of the Sun which will result in excessive water loss during photosynthesis.
