why the number of stomatas present on upper surface of a leaf are compartively less than on the lower surface of leaf

on upper side they are less as that side is in direct contact with sunlight, hence rate of transpiration will increase leading to huge water loss, so in order to overcome this they are mostly at beneath

Because when the pores are located on the surface of a leaf they are more closer to evaporation.so when they are located at the lower surface of the leaf the rate of transpiration or evaporation reduces.
