Oxygen is the base of our life. All humans, animals need oxygen. Animals exhale oxygen and humans intake the oxygen.
Oxygen is a gas because :
1) Oxygen cannot be compressed. Which is a property of gaseous state.
2) Oxygen has no shape or volume. Which is also the property of gas.
So, these two points clearly describes oxygen to be a gas.
