1. In parallel circuits, if one electrical appliance stops working due to some defect, then all other appliances will still keep on working unlike series combination where if one stops working the other components also stop working.
2. each appliance has its own switch and it can be turned off and on independently without affecting other appliances.
3. each appliance gets the same voltage as that of the power supply line.
4. the overall household circuit is reduced, so current supply is high .
