In solids the intermolecular distance is very less, therefore force of attraction between particles is maximum. In liquids the intermolecular distance and force of attraction between the particles is intermediate between solids and gases.
There exist least forces of attraction between particles of gases as the particles present far from each other...... This is how particles of matter attract each other, depending on the type of substance....
