The reason is that the universe is huge, expanding every minute and we are beings who aspire to know all the secrets of the world. People want to know about it because it has become a very interesting field of research and it is fascinating to know about some place we may not go ever in our lives. Some find it important to know about how the world began to exist, as we are a part of it.
