Why the plants are called autotrophs and animals are called heterotrophs

Plants are called autotrophic because they can prepare their own food from carbondioxide and water and minerals from soil in the presence of sunlight.
Whereas animals are called heterotroph because they cannot prepare their own food but obtain it from other organisms.

Animals are called heterotrophs because they do not make their own food and are dependent on others for food.
