Decision of poet to take second Road:

The poet decided to take the second road as it was less-travelled and looked more challenging. He wanted to go on an adventurous journey at the moment. The first road was travelled by many people and had no obstacles in the path.  

So he chose the second road, rejecting the first for some other day. But he also regretted that he might miss the fun and relaxing elements of the first road. He was not sure if he could travel the first road later on his life. And therefore, he felt bad for the road that he did not choose.
