Why the pole experience 6 month day and 6 month night?

Answer:

The sun's rays fails to reach the poles as the earth is tilted around it's axis. During the summer season the north pole receives all the light and therefore it's day and opposite happens in the south pole and vice versa. Moreover the phenomenon is known as circle of illumination.
