why the poles are flattened of earth

The earth is flattened at the poles mostly because of the centrifugal force created by earth's rotation on its own axis.

Earth's rotation creates a centrifugal force which is maximum at equator and minimum at the poles.

This is one of the main reasons why earth is bulging at the equator and flattened at the poles.
