It was a consequence of the First world war that people began to raise aggressive war propaganda and became exclusively nationalist. They demanded self protection and security. They began to define their own territory, code of conduct, norms etc.which could identify them. They demanded one leader for them with whom they can relate or idolise. This gave rise to conservative dictatorships such as Nazism in Germany with Hilter as the dictator.
