Answer:

the range of asinx + bcosx is given by ±√ a²+b²

where a and b are real nos.

in this question...a and b are 1 and -1 respectively..

range of sinx - cosx = ±√ 1²+1²

= ±√2

so the range of sinx - cosx are [-√2, +√2]
