why the rate of heartbeat is more in animals with less weight​

Small animals have a larger surface area to volume ratio than large animals. That is why heartbeat in smaller animals is faster than larger animals .

  • blood takes a lot of time to reach heart for oxygenation and circulation
  • weight of heart will be more
  • EX- blue whale- wt of the body is 1,50,000kg; wt of the heart 750kg and number of beats/min is 7..
