Wt know that light is composed of 7 colours of which the red has the longest wavelength and can travel the longest.
During the sunset or sunrise... Light had to travel longer in the atmosphere
This results in 'the survival of the fittest' (never at this too hour answer) and my red and orange ligjts reach us.
Hence Sun looks red at time of sunset or sunrise

Red colour has highest wavelength. During sunrise and sunsets, light rays have to travel long distance. Light color waves with shorter wavelength get scattered the most, leaving only the Red and warm colors. Therefore, the sun appears to be red at the time of sunset and sunrise
