ANSWER:

Rajendra Prasad was a lawyer who later became the president of Congress party of India. Shukla took Gandhiji to Rajendra Prasad’s house. When he was not there at house, the servants knew 'Shukla' was a poor yeoman.

He annoyed their master to help the 'Indigo sharecroppers'. So they made him to stay the on ground along with Gandhi, who was considered as another peasant.

They did not allow 'Gandhi' to draw 'water' from the well as they had taken him to be untouchable and did not want the entire well to get polluted.
