Why the sepoys were discontented

1 became they were not treated equally as the British soldiers.
2 the use of cow and pig skin fats to lubricate the cartridges of guns also discontented them as--for Hindus cow was considered sacred and holy ,they worshipped them.
&-Muslims hate pigs ,due to some religious reasons

the sepoys had played an important role in the istablishment of the british administration in india but they were neither appreciated nor rewarded by the british this made the sepoy unhappy. And one more reason which made them discontented that is all the high posts were kept for the english mens the heighest post that an indian sepoy could get is of a subedar
