the scattering of blue component of the white sunlight by air molecule present in the atmospheric caused the blue colour of the sky

shgdc: no- the answer is because of scattering of sun light and presence of nitrogen 71 % and oxygen 21%...

The molecules of air and other fine particle in the atmosphere have size smaller than the wavelength of visible light. These are more effective in scattering light of shorter wavelengths at the blue end than light of longer wavelength at the red end. When sunlight passes through the atmosphere the fine particle in a scatter the blue colour more strongly than red.the scatter blue light enter our eyes. Since we see the blue light from everywhere our head the sky appears blue.

Hope this will help you ^_^
