The acceleration caused by the earth's gravity does not change. The velocity increases to a point where air resistance provides enough force to counter g. Thus one can reach a pointof no effective acceleration. Air resistance equals -g.

under the influence of gravity the body starts to increase its velocity for 0 to v which is not equal to 0.
