Why the sun appears red during sunrise and sunset?

It is due to scattering of light

As the sunlight has 7 colours the wavelength of each colour is different from the other Red has the maximum wavelength so it travels more distance faster than other colours

so in the time of sunrise and sunset the red colour scatters the most thatswhy sun appears reddish during sunset and sunrise
