Light rays from sun take more time to reach us.

Hence, there is more scattering of blue colour of sun light.

So, we are able to see red colour of the sun because there is less scattering of red colour.

Most of the red light, which is the least scattered, enters our eyes. Hence, the sun and the sky appear red.
