Why the surface of match sticks and the sides of the matchbox are made rough?

the surface of the match stick and the sides of the matchbox are made rough because when they both are rubbed together friction is produced , as we know friction produces heat the matchstick catches fire .....

the surface of match stick and the sides of the match box are made rough to create friction between them because without friction matchstick can't burn.
