WHY THE SYSTEM OF RESERVED CONSTITUENCIES WAS INTRODUCED?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE SYSTEM OF RESERVED CONSTITUENCIES WAS INTRODUCED DUE TO THE FOLLOWING REASONS --
1) TO GIVE EQUAL REPRESENTATION TO EVEN THE BACKWARD CLASSES OF THE SOCIETY.
2) WEAKER SECTIONS MAY NOT HAVE REQUIRED CONTACTS, EDUCATION AND RESOURCES TO CONTEST AND WIN ELECTIONS.
3) INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE MAY PREVENT CERTAIN WEAKER SECTIONS FROM WINNING ELECTIONS.
4) IF WEAKER SECTIONS COULD NOT COMPETE IN ELECTIONS, OUR COUNTRY WILL BECOME LESS DEMOCRATIC AND LESS REPRESENTATIVE.
5) TO OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM CONSTITUTION MAKERS INTRODUCED RESERVED CONSTITUENCIES.
HOPE IT HELPS

> Many people May ask That : "Is Right to equality is violated if the system of Reserved constituency is introduced"? But, it's just a fair and lovely way of Justice and enhancing equality. ;p
> Lets come to the point ;p
☆ Our Constitution makers were worried that in an open election, certain weaker section, with less money and influence, May not Stand a good chance to get elected to the Long Sabha and Assemblies of state. So, those who are influential and resourceful May prevent weaker ones from winning elections.
☆ If that happens, our Indian parliament and Assemblies will be only represented by those who are very influential and powerful. This will make our India, the largest democracy in the world, less democratic and representation.
So, that's not fair ,right??
☆ - So, A special system of reserved constituencies for the weaker sections was intriduced.
- Some constituencies were reserved for the people who belong to scheduled castes (sc) and scheduled tribes (st).
Hope you understand
