Tamil Nadu is a state that is situated on the eastern coast of India . due to coriolis force , the south east trade winds , turn right and blow towards India and cause rain in most of nation but , due to their division into arabian branch and bay of Bengal branch on the southern tip of India , there is not enough rain on eastern coast of India due to south west monsoon.
whereas , the cold and dry north east trade winds blowing from Siberia and other north countries they are generally dry , but during its course towards southern hemisphere , it passes over bay of Bengal , from where it picks up moisture and then , rains it over Tamil Nadu when it passes over it .

due to this reason Tamil Nadu receives winter rainfall

hope this helps
