Why the temperature is not increase when we heat ice ? where did heat go

the heat is used to break the force of attraction between the molecules of water. Breaking up of molecules requires energy in the form of heat

The temperature does not increase due to latent heat of fusion.Latent means hidden,the hidden heat is utilised by the ice to melt due to which the temperature does not increase at all
