therometer kept under the tongue because the air from breathing does not pass over it thereby giving an incorrect reading to give a true reading of inner body heat.because intense heat of our body is present under our tongue so we can measure the whole body temprature with accurate body heat.about 1 or 2 minutes kept in it.
