• If two lines of force intersect then there would be tangent and hence two direction of electric field at the point of intersection which is not possible and two lines makes also two direction which is not possible. So that's why two lines of force do not intersect each other.

ANSWER:

If the two lines of force cross or intersect each other, it means that at the point of intersection the compass needle points towards two directions, which is not possible.
