UNITS THAT ARE DERIVED FROM THE FUNDAMENTAL UNITS ARE CALLED DERIVED UNITS.
For example speed : m/s
Where m is metre that fundamental unit of length
And second which is fundamental unit of time.
And speed is combination of these both, so it is derived unit.
Talking about work done, it has unit JOULE (J) which is expressed as( kg.m²/s²) so you see it's also combination of many units, thus it is also DERIVED UNIT !!
