Pie(π) is nothing but a symbol like others like theta , rho ,alpha ,beta etc , It is used to just represent a number 22/7 , This number has a long history , osmotic pressure is also denoted by symbol π ,

pi times diameter of a circle is equal to the circumference of the circle. This is the same with all the circles and so, the value of pi is constant. It's value is not exactly 22/7 but is equal to 3.13....................................................... the number continues. It's irrational and it's decimal is non terminating, non recurring.
