The northern plains of India have a favourable climate , fertile land ( river Ganga )

Flat land which is excellent for agricultural activities

Rich in minerals - Development of industry and trade

Excellent water supply due to innumerable rivers

Because of development of all types of transport , communication and other infrastructure facilities
