why the veins are blue in colour

Because veins carries deoxygenated blood except pulmonary vein.......

No they are not blue in colour... Actually for the distinction of arteries and veins they are drawn red and blue respectively..... It obviously carry deoxygenated blood but it hardly effect the saturation of blood... So veins and arteries are red.. In our eyes its same... There is a very very minute change.....
