Why the virus is called as "different from microorganisms "

A virus is definitely too small to be seen without a microscope. Since viruses are so small (tinier than bacteria) they may be considered microbes. However, since they are not "alive" outside of a host organism, it is debatable whether they are really organisms at all. ... Most viruses are known because they cause disease.

Viruses are different from Microorganisms because...

  • Microorganisms use their own machinery as host while viruses uses others machinery as host.
  • Viruses can reproduce only if they attack a host cell. while Microorganisms can reproduce without any host cell dependence.
  • They are non living when they don't have any host for their growth. But when they find the host, they act as living thing. While Microorganisms are generally living.
