When Calcium Oxide is combined with Water it forms Calcium Hydroxide
Equation:
CaO + H2O ---> Ca(OH)2
When Calcium Hydroxide is painted on the wall, a layer of Calcium Carbonate is formed within 2-3 Days, as Calcium Hydroxide reacts with Carbon dioxide to form Calcium Carbonate.
Equation:
Ca(OH)2 + CO2 --> CaCO3 + H2O
Hope it helps you!
