Why the water remains cool in earthen pots during summers

because a pot is made of mud and mud is an insulator and do not allow heat and electricity to pass through it therefore keeps the water cool

Water looses its temperature through small pores present in the pot. Hence in an earthen pot (matka) become cool during summer.
