why the weight of 1 kg of cotton is equal with the 1 kg of iron????​

Dont think of the mass...

The weight is same..

We take 1 kg of iron...

Suppose 1 sheet of iron is 500g we take 2 of them...

Similarily if 1 bag of cotton is 100g..we take 10 of them.

1. Density of cotton is much less than iron.

2. Hence the total volume of 1 kg cotton will be much higher than 1 kg iron.

3. So 1 Kg cotton will displace more air than 1 kg iron.

4. A larger buoyant force will act on cotton in relative to iron.

- Buoyant force being equal to the weight of the fluid being displaced.

5. Result will be slight decrease in weight.
