Why the West flowing rivers of India do not forms delta of their mouth

• The eastward slope consists of Deccan plateau. In other words, the western coast is higher when compared to eastern coast. Thus there is no ground presented for delta based formation .

• The west flowing rivers are come from western ghat. The western coast consists of hard rocks. So it is not possible.

• The hard rocks don’t allow west flowing rivers to widen their mouth. Hence they formed estuaries instead of deltas.
