Well... Very Good Question!

⇒Buses and trucks are heavy vehicles which carry very large amount of load or passengers compared to cars and scooters which are light vehicles where passengers or load is limited.

⇒As the weight of the vehicle increases frictional force increases.

⇒Hence to provide more grip on the road , the heavy vehicles like truck and buses are provided with heavy wheels.

Buses and Trucks have heavier and bigger wheels that cars and scooters due to the following reasons:

1. Heavier wheels are bigger and this means the truck and buses will have more contact with the surface of the ground. This reduces the pressure exacted on the ground meaning less damage done on roads.

2. Increased traction/friction: Because trucks and buses carry heavier load/more weight it therefore means it requires more traction/friction with the ground to move the load efficiently and effectively.

3. Heavier wheels increase the surface area of contact with the ground preventing sinking or getting stuck compared to the wheels of cars and scooters

4. Heavier wheels means equal distribution of the total weight
