why the white light volour change when it goes through a colourful medium because we know that light did not need medium to travel then why the colour is change?

Hey so you want to know this ok so lets try

now we know that light is made up of seven colours which have certain wavelengths right.

now when light passws through any other medium having different colors the wavelength of that particular incrases and hence this phenomenon occurs.
