why the whole of earth cannot receive sunlight?​

Answer:

The sun is big but it does not completely engulf the earth. Do recall that light travels in a straight line ( ignore diffraction bends ) and obviously then if the sun is located a distance away from the earth a certain part of the earth will always remain hidden from the sun’s light rays.
